Sept. 9, 2013/High School Juniors in Oklahoma GEAR UP's 24 School Districts Eligible to Take a Free ACT Assessment this Fall
Every 11th grade student in Oklahoma GEAR UP's 24 partner schools will have the opportunity to take a free ACT assessment this fall on Oct. 1.
Oklahoma GEAR UP is a federal grant program administered by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
ACT test scores reflect what students have learned throughout high school and provide colleges and universities with excellent information for recruiting, advising, placement and retention. Additionally, taking the ACT exam often results in increased college enrollment, especially among underrepresented students.
Oklahoma GEAR UP is providing the free ACT assessment to every 11th grade student in the designated 24 Oklahoma GEAR UP school districts as part of its mission to help students better prepare for college. The ACT assessment typically costs $36.50 per test. This opportunity is available for one designated day and will be administered through the local school site.
For more information regarding the free ACT assessment opportunity, please contact your student’s guidance counselor.
